For regular battery constant current charge tests,when you use constant voltage to charge the battery, the current flows into the battery becomes smaller and smaller as time goes by, right?
There must be a point for you to stop the charge, the end condition of that point is supposed to be a very small current.
That's why for CV_Chg the end condition is current, that's a necessary set up.
But that's just for NORMAL tests, what if you want to do the tests without setting up the current end condition?
Such as if you need a step to simply hold voltage at 2.7V for extended amount of time.
What can you do with that? Is it possible for Neware BTS software(Battery Testing System) to get the job done?
The answer is YES!
For achieving this purpose, you have to modify the BTS.ini file in the installation directory.
Please close the BTS application firstly, go to the installation directory(normally C:\Program Files (x86)\NEWARE\BTSClient7.5.5) and open the BTS.ini file.
Locate the following segment and modify the value from 0 to 1.
Then save the BTS.ini(you may be asked for the administrator rights if you are using Windows 7 or higher edition of Windows OS).
Restart the software and you'll notice now the CV_CHG can work without setting up the current end condition.
BTW: As you may already knew, long time Chrage/Discharge may cause hazards to battery or supercapacitor, please be careful.
Most customers know that BTSDA software is designed for the NDA file format, but can we write to another format such as .CSV or .txt?
The answer is definitely YES. Please refer to the following screenshots, it's very easy and flexible.
Here is a case from one of our customers. Let's see his question first.
I recently purchased 24 Neware BTS channels (16 5V1A, 8 5V6A) and am having a problem connecting the software to the equipment. I am using BTS 184.108.40.2062 and my Control Unit (with screen) has the label:
Generally, the capacity comes out from a battery(discharge capacity) will be less than the capacity comes into a battery(charge capacity).
But for some customers, when they perform charge and discharge operation with Neware BTS software at the beginning, it's strange to see the discharge capacity is more than the charge capacity.
For some BTS3000 COM port edition battery testers customers, they may meet COM port errors sometimes.
And for customers who are using TC5.3 software, when they check the testing data, there's also possible for them to meet some minor problems in the BTSDA software.
This is a question from one of our BTS4000 customers.
We found it very useful in our development to run a pulse charging regime. For example we loop 54 seconds of CCCV followed by 6 seconds of Rest. (The CCCV contains the exit condition)
The functionality of the BTS4000 allows to do it.
However- It collects too many records (two records each time the run moves from one step to the other…). This is too many for file size of many days cycle life. (and for excel)
My questions: Is there a way to-
1. disable the auto-record taking at each step transition. (most important ! )
2. to refer in a step exit condition to a channel (multi step) process value as accumulative charge, or discharge.
3. to refer in step exit condition to a channel virtual parameter as counter, formula.. and so.
A question about BTSDA comes from one of our customers.
I am using BTS TestControl 5.3.0013 (2010.6.2) with an 8 channel battery tester, model BTS-3008-5V10mA.
When I run a cell, it collects the data and shows every cycle, but after the data collection completes, the first eight cycles are missing (the data file starts with cycle #9).
How can I prevent this from happening?
Some customers asked us about the cell grouping or grading of Neware BTS software. Is it possible for the Neware BTS software be used for cell grouping or grading?
The answer is yes. Neware BTS software can be used for cell grouping or grading and it's not difficult to use.

Some customers asked us how to operate BTS channels together, such as how to start up tests together and how to export data all together.
In fact, it's easy. Please refer to the following pictures.
Step 1: In the main working area, you can use CTRl+A to select all the channels, or you can press the CTRL and click the channels you want to operate. If there's a yellow border around the channels, it means the channels were selected.
